We have an update on our latest consignment of posters, inbound to Southampton, via ZhingZhong in China. Although we have made our new product available after assurances by our shipping agent that our goods will be here today we have unfortunately been let down by the Captain of the shipping container ship Orkye Thanoo, sailing under a Singapore flag with a Turkish skipper, Arvan Nugeela and a mostly Haitian crew.
Apparently the Captain made an unscheduled stop in the Maldives after running out of rum on day 7 of the voyage. This led to a 24 hr delay, further compounded by a minor incident that is currently being resolved. Negotiators have been flown to the ship which is in the deep channel off the Isle of Wight in an area of calm water known as Riggers Nub. Apparently after 17 days without a rum ration the crew broke into several containers looking for rum in the cargo, which they found on the 7th attempt.
The Captain has now holed up in a container of “adult toys” with several boxes of rum and refusing to come out. Attempts to cajole him from the container have so far been met with incomprehensible screams. Port Authorities are monitoring the situation and giving us hourly feedback.
As you can see from the attached featured image, Google’s latest Satellite imagery shows the ship, becalmed in the Nub, the other map pointers are customers in the Southampton area awaiting for their delivery.
We do apologise for the unintended delay in poster delivery, for those waiting it must be bitterly disappointing to not have a poster in good time, however rest assured we are doing all we can to ensure the delivery arrives in good order with the minimum of staining possible.
Many thanks for your continued patience.
